Il est enterré à Konya. Le Sema est une danse sacrée des derviches tourneurs soufis qui s'execute dans le semahane (salle de danse).Le derviche est vetu d'une longue tunique blanche, couleur du deuil, et d'une toque cylindrique en poil de chameau, symbole de la pierre tombale. La main droite levee vers le ciel, il recueille la grace divine qu'il transmet à  la terre par la main gauche tournée vers le sol. Il pivote sur le pied gauche en tracant un cercle au tour de la piste pour parvenir à l'extase qui lui permet de s'unir à Dieu. La danse est donc une priere, un depassement de soi et l'union supreme avec Dieu. Le cercle est egalement le symbole de la Loi religieuse qui embrasse la communaute musulmane toute entiere et ses rayons symbolisent les chemins menant au centre ou se trouve la verite supreme, le dieu unique qui est l'essence meme de l'Islam.
